Cahore - 2 June 2023
2 June 2023 - Cahore, Co Wexford
Slept ok last night - and had a slow start this morning. We didn’t need to leave until noon, but serviced Dave; and by about 10.30 ish thought we may as well leave.
An elderly man was chatting as we were filling up with water, asking where we were from, where we were going etc. We said to the east coast, he said it would be cold and windy, sun only in the south!
He wasn’t wrong! I drove for about 1-1/2 hours - mixture of roads - yet again! Narrow, bumpy, wider, good and then excellent motorway, then back to narrow and bumpy!
A couple of reasons we’ve driven east instead of south - one we thought after the lovely weather yesterday, and the good forecast - that it might be good to near the coast. Second - the only place to service Dave other than a campsite is in Gorey (further north of here). We did try a few other sites - but fully booked for the bank holiday weekend 🤔
So here we are - incredibly windy - not enticing for a swim - although some youngsters were jumping off the pier earlier.
We went for a walk up to the restaurant behind, as their wood fired pizzas had been mentioned in Park4nignt. The only table available is for 19.30 tonight - questioned what else we’d be doing today, and decided to stay.
Then went for a walk around the cliffs - out of the wind was ok!
We’re back to that other really irritating problem - we have no internet service using our MiFi (and RWG are not replying to emails - again) - so back to using Tintin’s phone as a hotspot 😡
Nothing more to add - just feels like we’re biding our time until the ferry home… I’m sure we could be hanging around in worse places!
Lastly - happy 9th wedding anniversary to Sarah & Herc ❤️
