Immendingen - 27 May 2019

Had a long walk in the morning through the forest, vine and apple fields and through a couple of towns. After lunch we moved on past the lake towards the Black Forest and stopped the night in a carpark just by Immendingen.

Immendingen - 27 May 2019

27.05.19 - It was lovely not cooking last night, Tintin was probably very happy not to do dishes either! As expected, very peaceful night, dark sky with no light pollution.

This morning went for a walk through the forest, around the little lake and into Daisendorf. Took a couple of hours, lovely views over Lake Constance and all the vines, as well as apple trees. Not bad, 9,000 odd steps before lunch!

We thought it was a bank holiday here today when we found the bakers closed. However, Rewe (supermarket) was open, so picked up more milk, yogurt etc to keep us going. We think it’s Ascension day here on Thursday.

Tintin drove, should have been about an hours drive, but diversions and queues  due to roadworks and traffic lights made it more like one and a half hours.

I think we’re at Immendingen - however - can you believe it - we’re on 2G! Impossible to do anything! How did we cope before fast internet?! Using Tintin’s phone as a hotspot. My Google maps has us somewhere totally different!

Rain is forecast this evening and most of tomorrow. Think we’ll try to get laundry done. Laundromats are really few and far between, and we’re here just to be able to see if it’s possible tomorrow.

Not much in the way of pictures today. Were delighted to see storks again. A young man was videoing them and said they came back each year, but there was an interloper on a nearby roof!

The interloper, chased away by the two on the nest, missed it on camera.
One was doing a dance on the nest to call it’s mate back

In lots of our places to sleep, we’ve heard an abundance of bird song, which is lovely. However, it’s a shame the male cuckoo can’t make any other sound!

We’ve been in Germany for most of May, and it’s hard to generalize - but - of the areas we’ve seen, they all seem quite prosperous. Houses look well maintained and tidy. In other countries we’ve laughed over there being so many ‘do-eruppers’!

Well, book reading this afternoon - research or anything using internet is a waste of time!

Nice outlook, fields and trees - the river Danube is a couple of minutes walk away. There’s a cafe just past us, but imagine that later on we’ll be on our own again!
