Kägiswil, on a farm - 13 April 2024
13.04 - Kägiswil - on a farm!
I went outside last night to see the illuminated waterfalls - good - but prefer them in daylight.
We had more of a cleaning Dave this morning before we had to leave the campsite by 10am.
We sat in the guest carpark for a while, trying to decide where to go next.
I was driving today - about 90 minutes. Drove through Lauterbrunnen - just packed with people. Even the drive today was busy with traffic - quite windy roads, and a tad narrower too.
We made a detour to a Thule shop suggested by the Mancunian at the campsite in order to buy some more 50amp fuses - success - might try drying my hair again. Maybe the fuses we were using were just cheap Chinese knock offs via Amazon. Yes - I know they’re probably all from China - but differing quality!
There was a garage nearby, so picked up more milk and bread - as I think all shops are closed tomorrow, being Sunday.
We’re parked up at a farm, in a field, with beautiful views all around us. All we can hear is the clanking of the cows’ bells - might be irritating throughout the night - cows sleep about 4 hours per day, then ‘drowse’ for about 8 hours. Adults do what is called polyphasic sleep - meaning they sleep in small intervals…
It’s a lovely sunny day, so after lunch, we went cycling. Only about 8 miles - down to a nature reserve, along various cycle paths.
We kept seeing birds of prey - but hard to actually photograph - we believe they were red kites, due to the forked tail.
Saw a plane towing a glider plane - Jamie - been there, done that!
Also rode through a military airfield - quite strange to be able to ride on a runway!
We then came back to Dave and simply sat outside in the sunshine and read our books.
Tintin spent some time emailing various campsites down towards Italy - just about availability. It appears the weather tomorrow will be ok, but then this area will have rain for days - but down towards Italy might be ok - so maybe that’s where we’ll go!
…and finally, Tintin found a good Renault 4 for sale at a garage, no price though.
