Altglashütten Day 2

29.05.19 - Yesterday I had a headache for a lot of the day - bonus was not only did my husband cook a Thai green chicken curry for tea - he did the dishes too!

Went to bed early at about 10pm - it didn’t just rain - it poured, pelted, whatever you call it - was very noisy in Dave!

This morning Tintin drove for about 3 minutes to the stellplatz for emptying and filling - only 50c for water today! Then went about another 5 minutes down the road to Lidl and did a fairly small shop. However, multiple bars of chocolate as they were on offer - rude not to!

We then drove back to Altglashütten where we were last night. After lunch of a very industrial rye bread baguette, we went walking.

We’d looked at the grim forecast and decided we couldn’t be governed by it and just took our coats and a brolly each. Walked for about 2-1/2 hours - nearly 13,000 steps according to my phone.

Lovely light ginger cat rolling around in a fenced in garden, so couldn’t touch it!

Cat flap with a difference

Passed men working on wooden houses - using the whole round logs, not just planks of wood - different!

3 large log cabins/houses going up
…and this is where the logs are coming from

We were on a mission to get to the Falkauerwassenfälle, which we did, but not a very impressive waterfall considering the amount of recent rain!

All in all, a very pleasant walk - and it didn’t rain! When I was researching this morning it said Feldberg (near where we are) is the wettest place in the Black Forest - typical! If you’re interested - Freiburg is the sunniest!

It should hopefully be good weather tomorrow, so will get the bikes out and go exploring from here, as it seems a pretty good place to be.
