Échiré
24 October
Ultra quick blog today, not much to say!
Had a headache last night, which kept waking me up - first paracetamol this trip this morning - which has helped!
I drove for about 40 minutes, and we’re parked up on an Aire with 4 spaces at Échiré.
Whilst driving we saw three blades of a wind turbine being delivered somewhere. Um, interesting going around corners!
Walked into the town - yes, another church! Bought a baguette and one apricot flan from the boulangerie. Shared the flan with afternoon cuppa - probably not worth getting fatter for! Now the 40c doughnuts from Lidl - different entirely! They even have jam squirted in two holes, are really light, and have a form of icing sugar on top - no need to lick lips as often!
The bread was very tasty, we’d bought some cheese earlier which has turned out to be very smelly every time we open the fridge - so that has to be eaten!
After lunch, went for a brief walk as the Aire backs onto a green area. Weather looked iffy, so came back to Dave.
I’ve started on my 11th book - and still haven’t read as much as previously! Tintin’s first book was over 1,000 pages, so that’s slowed him down a bit.
It’s now 6pm, and the threatened rain is actually happening!
Maybe we’ll find a town of more interest tomorrow…
Happy birthday Caroline - see you soon!
