St Malo Ferry Terminal - 14 September 2021
A day of making our way back to St Malo for an early morning ferry tomorrow, filling up with diesel and gas, buying of French goodies in the supermarket.
Tintin decided he’d try out the double overhead bed last night, purely because he’s never slept in it!
Kept hearing owls last night, did look outside - but far too dark to see anything!
Started raining about 02.30 - by 04.30 it was full on thunder and lightning and heavy rain. Quite strange being in a little box, all the noise is amplified as we’re obviously close to the roof.
So a bit of a dismal, dark start to the day, under the trees, next to the lock.
Me driving today - 90 minutes whizzing along the N176 to Saint-Méen-Le-Grand, where we emptied the grey and black water. We did this the other day at Poullaeuon which I forgot to mention in case you wondered how we were lasting for so long without services!
Is it just me, or do others find it sad to see these huge animal carriers - seen more than ever in just a week - only one was full of pigs 🙁
No baguette for our last day in France, were driving either on the motorway or dual carriage way, and no boulangerie available near the Aire.
Stopped for a few hours to have lunch, and read for a while. I then drove another 45 minutes to a Super U where we filled up with diesel, and I popped into the supermarket.
Tintin then drove the final 20 minutes or so, stopping off to top up with GPL.
We’re now at the St Malo ferry terminal - only 12 hours early! The sky is very dark - and it’s raining again.
Another nail in the coffin for Dave might be that Tintin thinks that driving him caused his frozen shoulder - as he has the start of the same pain in his left shoulder. Sounds like the next Dave will need an automatic gearbox!
So, sorry - no proper photos today, just a doing day to get back to St Malo.
I guess there won’t be any blogs for a while, so if you’ve been reading them - thank you!
Last but not least, Happy Birthday to Herc, our favourite son-in-law. 🍾🍻🍾🍻🍾🍻🍾🍻🍾🍻🍾🍻🍾🍻🍾🍻🍾🍻🍾🍻🍾🍻🍾🍾🍻🍾🍻
