Trégarvan - 12 September 2021
A nice 16 mile ride through the forest in the morning. Lunch, a drive to Lopérec where we decided to move onto Trégarven by the water.
Very peaceful Aire in Poullaeuon last night. Could see the sun setting, so Tintin took Dean the drone for another spin.
The forecast for today was about 24°, however, this morning went for a cycle on the path near us towards Huelgoat. It was chilly enough for Tintin to wear his coat. Perhaps because we were cycling through mainly forest it felt cooler.
The donkey was appreciative of his head rub! Thought the goat looked really quirky with his black head and horns, and white body!
Another first, we were greeted by lots of men - offering us biscuits - they were into their Kronenburg 1664 - was only 11am! We’d also had a man wave us across a road, there was some kind of mountain bike race going on - we just happened to be riding along the same path.
16 miles before lunch. Found a Votre Marche open in the village - no baguettes left, but a seeded one - that was certainly our jaw work out for the day!
I drove today, for about 45 minutes. Very different scenery. Some of it looked a bit like being on Dartmoor - very hilly and with lots of pretty heather. And yes, the thermometer on Dave said outside temperature was between 24 - 26°!
We arrived at another Aire in Lopérec. Whilst there was nothing wrong with it, it just didn’t feel right - so researched another place. 30 minutes more driving and I’m so pleased we moved! We’re now at a place called Trévagan, right opposite the estuary. Lovely!
Added bonus, shortly after we’d arrived nearly 30 different Porsche cars arrived and stopped right in front of us. Tintin put Dean up to take some overhead shots.
We were due to be away for 6 weeks - half the time we’ve previously been away for, but circumstances change and we will be back in Guernsey next Wednesday. My lovely Mum has had another fall today, and her arm is now in a cast. It feels wrong being away, when I want to be there to help her. Not possible to enjoy yourself when you’re worried about what’s happening at home!
